  School Board Meeting- September 23, 2020 All School Directors were present at Central Administration. The public could view the meeting online, but not attend in person due to COVID. Below is a summary of some of the items and issues that occurred at the Board meeting that may be of interest to our readers.  This is not meant to be inclusive of all that took place at the meeting. The Education Subcommittee meeting scheduled to meet just prior to the Board meeting was cancelled with no explanation to the public as to why it was cancelled.  Rick McClure, Board President stated that there would be a special voting meeting of the Board on Tuesday, September 29 to address potential changes to the Education Plan.  A vote was proposed to eliminate the hybrid model and return to 5 days/week in school instruction for kindergarten through fifth grade beginning October 19.  No written plan was presented to the public and no timeframe was given for when a plan would be made public.  Mr McClur

Below is a summary of some of the items and issues that occurred at the Board meeting that may be of interest to our readers. This is not meant to be inclusive of all that took place at the meeting. During the Finance Report, Board Directors spoke of the additional expenses incurred by the  district due to Covid-19. An additional $2.9 million was added to the budget due to Covid-19 expenses. Rick McClure, Board President stated that much discussion will follow in future meetings about these unexpected costs. The annual Human Resources report was presented. Health & Safety Subcommittee -- 9/16/20

  Health & Safety  Subcommittee 9/16/20 (members include Scott Russell, Elizabeth Warner and Libby Blackburn) met before the regular Board Meeting.   Administration gave a COVID-19 Case Update.  There were 4 positive cases prior to Sept 8, 1 positive student case and 1 positive staff case since Sept 8.  The COVID tracker is up and running on the NA website.  It is updated daily. Dr Sciullo reviewed the social media, email and reporting strategies for getting the information out to the community.     School Wellness Teams for each school, including NACA are being created.  Each will be led by the school counselor and include other staff.   Safe2Say Something, the anonymous tip line information was reviewed.  The School Resource Officer (SRO) Program is going into its third year, employing the same officers. Discussion occurred around the possibility of a Closed Campus Initiative during school hours. Administration spoke of some problems with off leash dogs, golf balls and
